The city of Brisbane in Queensland Australia was built on a river – the Brisbane River (why complicate matters?) The river and the city are a good match and without it, Brisbane would be odd – no river taxis and nocity cats, no paddle steamer and no mangroves. It has several different skylines as the river snakes in all sorts of directions and it’s easy to lose your bearings until you are familiar with the landscape.
