The extent of our garden is slowly being devoured by these little critters. I found them on a small clump of drought-tolerant grass located down the side of the house which is gravel path and fence and no other plants. It’s funny how they sniffed the only greenery out. There was a whole family of grasshoppers actually – Mum, Dad, and several youngsters. They look so comical, don’t they?

I have always know there are worlds within worlds all arounds us. It is just easy to forget about it. This is an amazing picture. Grashoppers is acutally a pest…. I had a cat who caught a lot of mice. I always looked at these small creatures and felt sorry for them. I saw their small amazing looking faces and I marveled at it. I know they are a pest , but still.

They ate my entire lime tree. Ok, it was a small tree, but I counted 35 of them on it one day and decided to leave them there – hence, they ATE all of it. This did mean they left other plants alone and the tree will spring back – eventually – I hope.
