This week, share a photo of something that says Heritage to you.
I chose to focus on a tradition to which I don’t belong, but to which I’ve been exposed to; Having lived in Australia for just under twelve years, I have seen a fair amount of Aboriginal art, mainly in museums and galleries, and although I am ignorant to the stories the paintings portray, I really like them. The earth colours and tones are so vivid, warm and bright, the precision and steadiness of the artist’s hand, the colours of the natural paints and the symbolic meaning of the story.
This original piece hung in our office for a while until it was moved on to its final resting place and I wish I knew who the talented artist was and that I could understand the story it tells. I wanted to share it with you – it’s lovely.

It’s wonderful to know that dot paintings interest and fascinate you. Each work has a meaning, not one;y to the artist but also to the ‘mob’ they belong to. Your photos are great, they leave the viewer in no doubt about the intricacies and colours of the paintings. Great to see.
