WPC – The Road Taken

Adelaide Hills

South Australia boast some of the best wineries in Australia and maybe the world (I’m  a tiny bit modest.) One of our favourite day trips as newbies, way back in 2005, was discovering these world class wineries, some of which were off the beaten track and off the sealed road.  We drove around this bend in anticipation.

The Road Taken

Life - part two; Australia. Having spent the first 39 years of my life in England, with two adult children who don't need me so much, a workaholic husband and a head full of stuff waiting to be unleashed, Waking the Wombat is my place to share life's experiences with you.

Wonderful wines come from South Australia and in my opinion out taste anything coming from Margaret River in WA. How anyone can drink that bilge water that passes as wine from the Nappa Valley in the States is beyond me.

By the way, I’ve been around a few corners in my time and have found that coming to cross roads requires considerable thought before determining to go straight ahead. So far so good.

My appreciation and knowledge of Australian wine grew significantly after 11 years spent in SA. We are incredibly lucky and blessed with the world’s finest drop here. Cross roads are always a challenge but I wouldn’t have argued with the ‘Boss Man’s’ decision 🙂
