Gone Girl

I know – where’ve you been?  You made a promise to post something every day for a month, you said, and you lasted just one week.  Promise broken and credability destroyed. Won’t do that again, sorry folks.

I’ve been busy applying for jobs.  It takes a long time; there’s the tweaking of the CV (resume), providing evidence of how you match the criteria and a covering letter.  Then, if you’ve been lucky enough to be invited to attend an interview (of which I was!), the homework on the organisation and preparation of interview questions.

I’ve also been learning how to use my new camera (or trying) – a Nikon D5500. I’m so excited and I’m loving it.  Of course I could just shoot away on auto all the time but where’s the fun in that?  Thank goodness for YouTube and plenty of useful tutorials to help me on my way.  I’m sure I’ll be joining a photography club before too much longer.

A very good friend who moved to Perth about the same time we moved to Brisbane, has written an historical story and I’ve been one of her critiques and editors. I haven’t even managed to finish that yet!  Luckily she isn’t relying solely on me, which is really good because I would have let her down by now.  Head over to her wonderful blog the Yarn Spinner’s Chronicle

Chief has been away too;  he flitted off to the UK for a couple of weeks.  Now home and of course going down with something caught on the plane, my everyday is slowly nudging back into routine.

I’ll leave you with one or two of my ‘mess around’ photos.

Your absence has been not and you excuse accepted. Best of luck with the job interviews etc. Your camera chose is first class, the camera will not let you down and your images are tops. The bear in the red hat is a ripper and your choice of background for it is 1st class as it doesn’t lead the eye away from ‘Teddy’. Great things ahead.
