My Teasers:
“I try to creep out of bed without waking him. I locate my handbag in the gloom, grab it and make for the door. I don’t remember the stairs from the attic being this steep. I go slowly down, so I don’t fall – Jesus, it would be embarrassing to break my leg at this point, especially when I need the loo so badly; especially when I am naked as the day I was born – and start opening doors in the hope that behind them there might be a bathroom.”
