Nowadays connecting with friends and loved ones scattered across the world is relatively easy with the invention of the ‘inter-web’. Imagine how difficult it would have been before the invention of the telephone; relying on a letter which may have taken weeks or even months to arrive at its destination. We are very fortunate aren’t we?

Once upon a time you had to wait for a postcard to come after the person going for a holiday already had come home. Nowadays you can get to know things almost the second it happens. Both good and bad I think, even if I am rather thankful for the good communications as both my children live abroad. All the best from Sweden!

We did indeed Christina. Sending postcards was such a big part of the holiday wasn’t it. It is easy for me to keep in touch with my parents who live in the UK these days – I still miss them though!

Me too, but now I can chat with them every day and know how things are. All the best from Sweden!

We are! I think that old age will be very different from now on. Hopefully we won’t be as isolated as some elderly people now as we will be able to keep in touch with people even if we can’t see them in person. Clare x
